Growing up I often thought of what I'd like to be,
Of the day that I'd be old enough to somehow finally see,
Best of all the roads that were before me where I stood,
Something always made me wanna try to do the world some good

But where do I fit? I wanna try to learn to live my life for others,
Can you show me how to keep my heart as tender as a child?
There's so many roads to choose and only one life win or lose,
No one seemed to hear me as I cried

Then years went by and I became a lot of different things,
Till one day I met someone who was living everything,
Everything that I had searched for when I was young and starry-eyed
