Oh, sleep too late!
The daughters of Jerusalem
Lie bleeding in the street!

Why would My children wander from
'neath My guiding hand?
Why would she stray, misguided through her
Own tormented land?
Forsaking her salvation,
Giving way to tinseled gods,
She wanders lost in emptiness,
Not knowing what the cost!

Oh! My little ones! Oh! My babes!
If death will show the way,
Then death will I give!
The thorns that destroy thy soul
Shall burn with thy flesh!
Shall thy life be forgotten,
Shall it perish with the rest?

Is flesh so dear you cannot hear
The Word I've given thee? Rejected!
Oh, Messiah, bring thine own captivity!
For what the price repentance, child?
I weep for what I see!
Yet, hasten, Lord, Thy judgment rod,
To bring Thy child to Thee!

The children of My blood and tears
Lie dying in their graves
Of cruel gods of lust and pride decaying by their greed!
My Word I sent in warning them,
But would my child take heed?
