The World is full of beauty when the heart is full of love.
Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.
No man ever injured his eyesight by looking on the bright side of things.
Two men look out through the same bars, one sees the mud, the other see the stars.
An optimist is one who makes the best of it when he gets the worst of it.
Positive anything is better than negative nothing.
All through life, my brother, if you'd be a happy soul,
Keep your eyes upon the donut & not upon the hole!
If you're downhearted & downcast it's because you're looking down too much at the waves. You've got your antenna pointed down toward Hell instead of up toward Heaven.
Your day goes the way the corners of your mouth turn.
We can complain because the rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.
The best way to appreciate your job is to imagine yourself without it.
When you've thanked God for every blessing, what time is there left for murmurs or laments?
I had no shoes & I complained, until I met a man who had no feet.
When you're dog tired at night could it be because you've growled all day?
You can't appreciate the light unless you've known darkness. You can't appreciate joy until you've known sorrow.
He who loses money loses much, he who loses a friend loses more, but he who loses faith loses all.
You can do anything if you have:
the faith to believe,
the will to work,
the vision to see it accomplished, and
the courage to keep going in spite of the obstacles.
Bravery is courage in the face of fear.
"Impossible" is a word only to be found in the dictionary of fools.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing that they said couldn't be done & did it!
Faith must be dead to doubt, dumb to discouragement & blind to impossibilities.
He who expects nothing shall never be disappointed.
Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.
Worry does not empty tomorrow of its trouble, but it does empty today of its strength.
You can't change the past but you can ruin a perfectly good present by worrying about the future.
Work won't kill, but worry will!
Hope never quits, faith never stops trusting & love never fails!
You can have faith for almost anything if you take it one day at a time.
Faith will not make the sun rise sooner but it will make the night seem shorter.
Face your fears, acknowledge them, confess them & take a positive stand against them.
You cannot have faith & fear at the same time.
Courage is not the absence of fear, it is the conquest of fear.
Winners never quit but quitters never win!
Consider the postage stamp: Its usefulness consists of the ability to stick to one thing until it gets there.
Dreading a task can be more tiring than doing it.
The best plans remain only daydreams until you bring them to life through action.
Do more than exist, live.
Do more than look, observe.
Do more than read, absorb.
Do more than hear, listen.
Do more than listen, understand.
Do more than think, reflect.
Do more than plan, act.
Do more than talk, say something.
Great ideas need landing gear as well as wings.
If you can't do everything, do every thing you can.
There are at least four things you can do with your hands: You can wring them in despair, you can fold them in idleness, you can clench them in anger or you can put them to some useful task.
Make an advantage out of your handicap, build a bridge out of your broken dreams & set those ships asail again!
Anything wonderful can happen in that little margin of time when you do not give up but keep on believing & keep on praying.
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
The size of the dog in a fight doesn't count as much as the size of the fight in the dog.
The trouble with some of us is that we stop trying in trying times.
Victory isn't just walking across the goal line; it's struggling through opposition to the goal.
Alexander the Great, when asked how he had conquered the World, replied, "By not delaying."
Each morning puts a man on trial & each evening passes judgement.
The past cannot be changed but the future is still in your power.
What counts is not the number of hours you put in, but how much you put into the hours.
Have a happy tomorrow, do today's work today.
Our days are like suitcases--all the same size, but some people seem to be able to pack more into them than others.
The great use of a life is to spend it for something that outlasts it.
What costs nothing is worth nothing.
If you don't know where you are going you will probably end up somewhere else.
A great deal of what you see depends on what you are looking for.
Always attack each challenge not with why we can't, but how we can.
Keep your hopes high no matter how low you feel.
Nothing was ever built or rose to touch the skies unless some man dreamed it would, some man believed that it could & some man willed that it must.
There is no limit to the possibilities for a man with imagination.

Age is a quality of mind. If you have left your dreams behind, if hope is lost, if you no longer look ahead, if your ambition's fires are dead, then you are old.
Neither fear old age nor fight it, but take hold of this stage of life & make something beautiful out of it.
It is not by the greying of the hair that one knows the age of the heart.
The heart that loves is always young.
There are two kinds of men who never amount to much: Those who cannot do what they are told & those who cannot do anything else.
To be a success in your work have faith, be daring, be first & be different!
Triumph is 10% try & 90% umph!
Be dissatisfied enough to improve but satisfied enough to be happy.
If at first you succeed, try something harder.
He that never climbed never fell.
A mistake is evidence that someone has tried to do something.
From the errors of others a wise man corrects his own.
If at first you don't succeed, try looking in the wastebasket for the directions you threw away.

The rungs in the ladder of accomplishment are composed of difficulties overcome one by one.
One of the greatest mistakes you can make in this life is to be continually fearing you will make one.
If you want to be successful it's just this simple: Know what you are doing, love what you are doing & believe in what you are doing.
What the new year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you are bringing to the new year.
You may fall into puddles but you don't have to lie there.
We know what is true or false by the standards of God's Word.
Only fraud & falsehood dread examination. Truth invites it.
You can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark. The real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the Light.
Right is right even if everyone is against it. And wrong is wrong even if everyone is for it.
He who speaks the truth stabs falsehood in the heart.
The whole purpose of this life is to prepare you for the next life.
Give a man a fish & you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish & you feed him for life.
Every mistake can be a steppingstone if we learn our lesson from it.
Experience is the best teacher but a tough & costly one, whereas teachers are a shortcut to learning.
The more I learn, the more I realise I need to learn. The more I know, the more I know I don't know.
Great men forget themselves; this is why they are remembered by others.
An admission of error is a sign of strength rather than a confession of weakness.
Better to ask the way than to go astray.
Don't be afraid to ask dumb questions, they're easier to handle than dumb mistakes.
The truly humble are truly loving & the truly loving are truly humble.
A man's pride shall bring him low but honour shall uphold the humble.
Swallowing your pride occasionally will never give you indigestion.
He that hath knowledge spareth his words. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise. And he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
A good listener is not only popular everywhere but after awhile he knows something.
Learning to speak in two or more languages is not nearly as hard as learning to keep your mouth shut in one.
Communication is nothing without listening.
Smart people speak from experience, smarter people from experience sometimes don't speak.
Never answer a matter before you hear it.
A wise old owl sat in an oak.
The more he heard the less he spoke.
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why aren't we all like that wise old bird?
Honesty is the best policy. Honesty pays.
This is the punishment of a liar. He is not believed even when he tells the truth.
Oh what a tangled web you weave when first you practice to deceive!
When you're through changing, you're through.
If you want to put the World right, start with yourself.
A man wrapped up in himself makes a very small bundle.
What's everybody's job is nobody's job.
Many hands make light work.
Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.
Do everything you can & expect God to do the rest.
Good beginnings make good endings.
Plan your work, work your plan.
When in doubt, ask.
Better a fence at the top of the cliff, than a hospital at the bottom.
Money is a good servant but a poor master.
Wealth is not his that has it but his that enjoys it.
Do you spend more than you make on things you don't need to impress people you don't have to?
Take your stand! If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything.
If your will power doesn't work, try your won't power.
Look before you leap. Squeeze, don't jerk. Stop, look & listen!
Learn to pause or nothing worthwhile will catch up with you.
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty. And he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry, for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
People who fly into a rage always make a bad landing.
The only way we can be patient with others is to know what a hopeless case we are ourselves.
It just doesn't pay to be in a hurry. You always pass up much more than you catch up with.
It's better to be slow & do it right than be fast & do it wrong.
Speed kills! Haste makes waste! Patience takes faith!
Be what you would make others.
Kind words may never die but they look pretty sick without kind deeds.
What I see you do speaks louder than what I hear you say.
An ounce of example is worth a pound of advice.
The lectures you deliver may be very wise & true, but I'd rather get my lessons by observing what you do. I'd rather see a sermon than to hear one any day. I'd rather one would walk with me than merely tell the way.
Be careful how you live, you may be the only Bible some people will ever read.
The smallest good deed is better than the grandest intention.
Little problems usually lead to big problems.
It only takes one weak link to break the whole chain. It only takes one rotten apple to rot the whole barrelful. It only takes one little hole in the dike to start a whole flood. It only takes one careless flame to start a holocaust!
A life need not be great to be beautiful. There may be as much beauty in a tiny flower as in a majestic tree, in a little gem as in a great jewel. A beautiful life is one that fulfills its mission in this World & is what God made it to be & does what God made it to do.
Suffering is good for you. It humbles you & gives you more compassion for others.
Troubles, like babies, grow larger by nursing.
'Tis easy enough to be pleasant when life flows along like a song. But the man worthwhile is the one who will smile when everything goes dead wrong!
You can't get anywhere today if you are still tied down in yesterday.
Sorrow, suffering, sacrifice & sadness bring out sweetness, compassion, love & tenderness.
To stand in the midst of darkness & behave as if all is light, that is victory!
In the presence of trouble some people buy crutches, others grow wings.
Resisting adversity causes some men to break, others to break records.
Before you complain about the darkness of the tunnel, remember, it is a shortcut through the mountains.
Got any rivers you think are uncrossable?
Got any mountains you can't tunnel through?
God specialises in things thought impossible
And He can do what no other friend can do.
Great trials seem to be necessary preparation for great duties.
Your soul would have no rainbows if it had no tears.
Always try to smile through your tears. A ray of sunshine is even more beautiful in the midst of rain.
While there's life there's hope.
What will prayer do for you? All that God can do for you!
When things look darkest, don't look down, look up! Be not fearful but believing.
On wings of prayer our burdens take flight,
And our load of care becomes bearably light,
And our heavy hearts are lifted Above,
To be healed by the hands of God's wonderful love,
And the tears in our eyes are dried by the hands
Of a loving Father Who understands.
All of our problems, our fears & despair,
When we take them to Him on the wings of prayer.
You must make personal contact with the power of God to let Him do the work of bringing you joy, health & happiness.
God is broadcasting all the time, you just have to learn how to tune in.
One of the greatest proofs of God's existence is answers to prayer.
As long as you're calling you can expect God to answer. As long as you're empty you can be filled.
If even an honest atheist, an honest unbeliever will cry out to God, God will answer.

Prayer has nothing to do with the position of your body. It's all in how you position your heart.
It's not how long you pray or how much you pray, it's how much you believe.
Never underestimate the power of prayer.
If you day is hemmed with prayer, it is less likely to unravel.
Prayer is the stop that keeps you going.
Your life is fragile, handle with prayer.
With most people prayer is a one way street & they do all the talking.
God always answers. Sometimes He says "Yes," sometimes He says, "No," sometimes He says, "Wait."
God's delays are not denials.
Prayer is the opening of a channel from God's fullness to your emptiness.
Prayer is not a ritual but a relationship.
Love is the most important thing.
One of the most important trips a man can make is that involved in meeting the other fellow half way.
Treat people as if they were what they ought to be & you help them to become what they are capable of being.
"I am proud of you" are five of the most precious words you can ever use to make another person feel important.
Some people have got a hard outside but they've got a soft heart. Look for it.
Try to fix the mistake, never the blame.
Few things help an individual more than to place responsibility upon him, & to let him know that you trust him.
Praise loudly, blame softly.
A pat on the back, though only a few vertebrae removed from a kick in the pants, is miles ahead in results.
You must look into people as well as at them.
He hears but half who hears one party only.
Help me never to judge another until I have walked in his shoes.
When some people meet a man they judge him by his clothes. But you must judge him by his heart.
Every man has his secret sorrows which the World knows not, & oftentimes we call a man cold when he is only sad.
You don't have to be in a car to run people down.
When I point my finger at my neighbour there are three more pointing back at me.
Words are real things, they bless or they curse. They lift up or they knock down. They save or they damn.
We may give without loving, but we cannot love without giving.
You never lose by giving.
Life is like a tennis game, you can't win without serving.
He that does good to another also does good to himself.
One of the most difficult things to give away is kindness, for it is usually returned.
As the purse is emptied the heart is filled.
If your heart is full of love you always have something to give.
Nothing the heart gives away is lost, it is kept in the hearts of others.
All the best things in life are shared.
Love just doesn't grow if you leave it on a shelf. Take it down & use it. Don't keep it to yourself.
Save your life by giving it to God. Find your life by losing it for others.
You can't outgive God.
One candle can light a thousand others without diminishing its own light.
He that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
Kindness is a language the dumb can speak & the deaf understand.
Even power itself hath not one-half the might of gentleness.
Wherever there is a human being there is an opportunity for a kindness.
I went to find a friend but couldn't find one anywhere. I went to be a friend & friends were everywhere.
Courtesy costs nothing, yet it buys things that are priceless.
God created you to enjoy the life He's given you & to love & enjoy Him forever & to try to help others to do the same.
Be cheerful. Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important.
The only way on Earth to multiply happiness is to divide it.
Find someone to make happy & then happiness will find you.
Life lived just to satisfy one's self never satisfies anybody.
The best cure for grief is action.
To feel rich, count the things you have that money can't buy.
Gather the crumbs of happiness & they will make you a loaf of contentment.
Friendship doubles your joys & divides your grief.
Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.
There is no cosmetic for beauty like happiness.
Marriage: Trust is the start of it, joy is a part of it & love is the heart of it.
The most important thing in a marriage is for both partners to have faith in God. With faith everything is possible.
Remind yourself of all his good qualities & try not to think about his bad ones.
Tell her she's beautiful & she'll be beautiful. Tell her she's wonderful & she'll be wonderful!
No matter how orderly a woman is by nature, it is a mistake for her to always be putting her husband in his place.
Say "I love you!" a hundred times a day.
Success in a relationship is much more than finding the right person. It is a matter of being the right person.
Don't judge your wife too harshly for her weaknesses. If she didn't have them chances are she wouldn't have married you.
Keep your eyes wide open before marriage, & half shut afterwards.
The great secret of successful marriage is to treat all disasters as incidents & none of the incidents as disasters.
To marry a woman only for her beauty is like buying a house for its paint.
Don't marry the girl you can live with, but marry the girl you can't live without.
Marriage should be as equal as possible, as sharing as possible. Talk together, pray together, love together, discuss together & then decide & agree together.
Jealousy shoots at others & injures herself.
In jealousy there is more self love than love.
Suspicion is far more apt to be wrong than right, oftener unjust than just. It is no friend to virtue & always an enemy to happiness.
Jealousy makes us smaller in the hearts of our friends, weaker in the eyes of our adversaries & defenseless in the hands of our enemies.
Blowing out the other fellow's candle won't make yours shine any brighter.
Jealousy turns to hatred of the one you're jealous of.
That which you give you have power over.
If you don't have enough love to forgive, you don't have love, because forgiveness is love.
He that loveth not knoweth not God. Love is God, for God is love.
Where real love is, there God is.
You believe in love as much as you love.
It's never too late for love.
Faults are thick where love is thin.
What everybody needs is love.
Love may be blind but hate is far more so.
The heart has eyes that the mind knows nothing of.
The force of arms is powerless when matched against the force of love!
Love is believing, trusting, helping, encouraging, confiding, sharing, understanding, feeling, touching, caring, praying, giving.
Where there is great love there are always great miracles.
You're nobody till somebody loves you.
There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer. No disease that enough love will not heal. No door that enough love will not open. No gulf that enough love will not bridge. No wall that enough love will not throw down. No sin that enough love will not redeem.
It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble, how hopeless the outlook, how muddled the tangle, how great the mistake, sufficient love will dissolve it all.
To be loved is the most precious gift one can receive.
Love works in ways that are wondrous & strange. There's nothing in life that love cannot change. Love is unselfish, understanding & kind. Love sees with the heart & not with the mind.
The loneliest place in the World is the human heart when love is absent.
When we love we live. When we live we love.
Love is never lost.
Love is saying you're sorry.
The deepest magic is love.
All love succeeds if it's real love.
Love is the power & light of God.
Love has creative power because God is love & He is the Creator, & with His help our faith can also create.
Love is the best way to do things.
What is Love?:
It is silence when your words would hurt.
It is patience when your neighbour is curt.
It is deafness when a scandal blows.
It is thoughtfulness for others' woes.
It is promptness when stern duty calls.
It is courage when misfortune falls.
Love loves the unlovely & casts a veil over countless sins.
Love is not blind. It has an extra spiritual eye which sees the good & possibilities that others cannot see.
Real love can survive almost any difficulty, difference, weakness, shortcoming, failure, fault, sin or obstacle.
A little bit of love goes such a long way!
Love is everything. Without love there is nothing, no friends, no family, no fathers or mothers or children or health or happiness or God, or Heaven.
Money will buy a fine dog, but only love will make him wag his tail.
You'll never know the true power of love until you learn the true power of surrender.
Love is communication.
Love always finds a way.
A friend: The one who comes in when the whole World has gone out.
Love isn't just giving when others are giving. It's giving when others are not giving.
Love is the greatest force in the World & the Word of God the most powerful truth on Earth!
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it.
Sympathy is the result of thinking with your heart.
Hatred stirreth up strifes, but love covereth all sins.
Love covers with a veil of silence the mistakes of others.
People are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges.
You can't expect a person to see eye-to-eye with you when you are looking down on him.
A friend is someone who knows your faults but thinks your virtues far outweigh them.
Love wasn't put in your heart to stay. Love isn't love until you give it away.
How it improves people for us when we begin to love them!
Love forgets mistakes. Nagging about them parts the best of friends.
Do you want the key to every heart? Try love, it never fails because God is love & it's impossible for Him to fail.
Your service is nothing without your love.
Children--flowers in your garden.
A baby is an expression of God's love. A baby is a small member of the home that makes love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, the bank account smaller, the home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten & the future worth living for.
Your dear little baby has come from above, filling your home with sunshine & love. No treasure on Earth is so precious or rare, as the dear little one God's placed in your care.
Show kindness & wisdom in all that you do. Your baby will learn life's values from you. A wee bit of Heaven bestowed upon you, with baby's arrival your dream has come true.
Sunshine & laughter & warm little tears are things you will cherish throughout all the years. Soft chubby fingers & love sweet & true, all part of this baby that God sent to you.
Bearing babies & having children is the greatest experience in this natural life.
No human being or human spirit is ever created without the touch of the Divine, the touch of the hand of God.
You were chosen by God. You didn't just happen by accident.
To bring up a child in the way he should go, travel that way yourself.
Children need models more than they need critics.
Half the fun of living is to have children.
Put yourself in your child's place & you'll have a better understanding of his problem.
It takes time & patience & understanding & lots of real love to train a child.
The best thing to spend on children is time.
Problem children are usually the result of problem parents.
Correction does much but encouragement does more.
The prevention of crime begins in the highchair, not the electric chair.
It is easier & better to built boys than to repair men.
What God offers you ...
God's love knows no boundaries. God's love is the answer to everything: It saves souls, forgives sin, satisfies hearts, purifies minds, redeems bodies, wins friends, & makes life worth living. It's the only truth, the only way & the only peace.
True love, real love, God's love is all the religion you need.
If you know that you love God & that He loves you, you know that He's going to take care of you. You know that everything is all right because God loves you.
God is a great kind & loving Father Who has made this beautiful World as a home for you, His child, to live in & enjoy. He has lovingly given you a wonderful body, mind & heart with which to enjoy it.
God had to make a man to show us what He was like. Jesus Christ was a Man of love, compassion, concern for the poor & the afflicted & the humble, & yet He was a revolutionary who changed things that should be changed.
God is pictured in His Son, Christ Jesus, a Man who loved everybody, even His enemies. He went about all His life trying to do good & help others, sometimes even the Scribes & Pharisees, who finally crucified Him for His doctrine of love which they feared because it exposed them & their lack of love.
Jesus temporarily renounced the rights of His citizenship in Heaven & became a citizen of this World, & though He was rich, for our sake He became poor that we through His poverty might become rich. He not only adapted Himself to our bodily form but also conformed to the human ways of life, custom, language, dress & living that He might understand & love us better & communicate with us on the lowly level of our own human understanding, in order that He might reach us with His love, prove to us His compassion & concern & help us understand His message of love in simple terms that we could understand.
Jesus is the Lover of all loves Who came for love & lived in love & died for love that we might live & love forever.
Salvation from our sins & from punishment in the next life is so costly that none of us could afford to pay for it. Jesus alone could buy it for us with the price of His Own life.
"For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the World to condemn the World but that the World through Him might be saved.
Jesus gives you peace of mind, purity of heart, rest of soul, & happiness of spirit now & forever. Try Him, you'll love Him!

Salvation is simple, all you have to do is receive Jesus, God's Son, as your Saviour by asking Him into your heart.
Why not do it right now, just pray this simple prayer:
Dear Jesus, please come into my heart, fill me with Your love, forgive me for being unloving & selfish & make me a new person who can love others with Your love. In Jesus' name, amen.
