SALESMANSHIP--IF YOU BELIEVE IN IT YOU CAN SELL IT!--By Maria    Maria #47        4/86

(Although originally written about our audio Tapes, this same counsel can be applied to our Video Tapes!)

         1. If you really believe in our Tapes and how special and how unique they are, it doesn't seem like you'll have any problem at all selling them to people. You can say, "Look, these Tapes are priceless, they're invaluable! You can't find better Tapes than these and you can't get'm anywhere else but from us! As incredible as it may seem, these Tapes can completely change your life!" Of course, they'll wonder how that's possible, so to answer their spoken or unspoken question you could say, "These Tapes have a message of love and hope, why don't you just try this music and see how it can change you, change your life, give you more hope, give you more faith, give you more happiness, help you to find love. These Tapes are so valuable that you can't possibly pay us enough for them, so we just request you pay as much as you can, like maybe _______." (And you just fill in how much is a real good donation.)

         2. WHEN YOU GO BUSKING IN HIGH CLASS RESTAURANTS OR WHEREVER YOU MEET TOP PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE AND GOVERNMENTAL PEOPLE AND MILITARY OFFICERS AND RICH BUSINESSMEN AND SHOP OWNERS, YOU KNOW THAT THEY CAN PAY PLENTY FOR THESE TAPES! You just have to judge how much you think they can give. If you think it will help to give them a set price, then you could say, "Well, give as much as you can, like maybe such-and-such." If you think you need to help them out a little bit, then suggest a certain amount, but make sure you're not underpricing. The people that are obviously well-to-do and wealthy can afford it, so just say, "Well, just give as much as you can." If they give you too little, you could say, "Could you afford a little more? Normally we try to get at least _______ for them. This is music that you can't hear anywhere else today, it's a special kind of music that will really flip you out and send you into the heavenlies and will help you with your problems and give you peace of mind!" Or you can approach it from a different angle and say, "If you give us a donation for our Work, we can give you one of these priceless Tapes as a token of our appreciation."

         3. YOU CAN CERTAINLY ALSO GIVE A GOOD MESSAGE ABOUT THE CHILDREN'S TAPES! "Your children will memorise these songs and the songs will have a wonderful effect on them, will give them good thoughts and good things to think about and teach them good lessons that they'll always remember in their minds, good lessons about happiness, about unselfishness, about sharing, about courtesy. Look at these titles!" Then go down the list and show them the titles--the titles are tremendous, they're intriguing! Tell them what they've done for YOUR children.

         4. You can really get excited about what our children's Tapes are going to do for their kids! In fact, they'll do even more for the children than the adult Tapes are going to do for the adults, because the childrens' minds are being formulated and these songs will deeply impress them. They'll memorise every word and not question anything. They'll go around singing or humming them constantly. There's virtually no children's music available on the market today, you can hardly even find children's Tapes that are trash, let alone good ones! There's just very little kids' material on the market, so ours is something that is really unique, really tremendous!--"Something you won't be afraid for your children to listen to, and that won't drive you or them out of your minds, something to influence them for the good instead of the bad!"

         5. You should think of all the wonderful things you can say about the Tapes. "We have testimonials from all kinds of people who have testified how this music has really changed them, who've told us how it gives them peace of mind, how it dispels their nervousness, how they play it all day long and how they completely identify with the sentiments of these songs, that they express the desires and cry of their heart."

         6. You need to get out there and be a salesman! It's not enough to say, "We have Tapes to sell, could you please give us a little donation?" Why don't we go out like Dad says, with the attitude of, "We've got something that you need and you want! We're not begging you, you should be begging us! We have something special that nobody else has, and if you want it badly enough, we'll let you have it! You should be begging us for it! What we have is tremendous! We're unique, we're different, we've got something that everybody wants, and if you'll listen to it, you'll want it too!--And it's worth paying something for! You go out to a restaurant and spend more than this on a nice meal or you go out and buy a nice something-or-other, but this Tape is much more valuable! You'd be way ahead if you'd forego one meal out and buy one of these Tapes instead!"

         7. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY SOME HOMES ARE ASKING FOR SUCH LOW DONATIONS FROM WEALTHY PEOPLE WHEN THEY KNOW WHAT A BLESSING THE TAPES ARE AND HOW ABSOLUTELY UNIQUE AND BEAUTIFUL THEY ARE! Our Message is like no other message in music in the World today! Most of today's music is either slow, draggy religious hymns that you only hear in church, or nerve-wracking horror noise that pervades every other area of society. Then there is also the old music of our parents' day that you still hear very occasionally, but has practically died out in most places. But there is nothing like ours, of course, because it's beautiful, attractive, appealing, relates to people and at the same time it gives a real message and offers a solution, it helps people to want to have a change and want to do what the songs are talking about!

         8. FOR THE CHILDREN, IT WILL ABSOLUTELY BRAINWASH THEM INTO A DIFFERENT ATTITUDE AND FRAME OF MIND. One Home reported that one lady's 5-year-old son actually got saved by himself while listening to one of the children's Tapes. It really changed him and his attitude after listening to those Tapes. He started doing everything that the music said to do, like being a little shepherd to his brothers and sisters, sharing with them and caring about them and having the faith that the Lord was in control, and even trying to comfort his mother by telling her that everything was going to be all right and God was in control. All the things that those children's songs say, he was now believing, saying and doing! He had really taken them to heart, and he was constantly hearing them, constantly listening to them and they became part of him and really changed him! And I think that's what it does with the adults too!

         9. YOU'VE GOT TO HAVE THE VISION FOR THAT!--AND IT SHOULDN'T BE DIFFICULT BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE THE FRUITS AND YOU CAN SEE THE RESULTS! You've got to try to sell people! You've got to really be a salesman! I think it would help if you'd use the Tape brochures more and pass them out to more people so they could look for themselves. You could pass them out and then come back and say, "What would you like to get? These are the best Tapes available anywhere! Look at these beautiful titles!" You could even stand there and read them the titles! They're very appealing and attractive, and the pictures on the Tapes and on the brochure are beautiful!

         10. But, of course, the sample is always many times more effective and powerful than the sermon, and our most fruitful Tapenessers always carry a Walkman or another good stereo Tape player with them and they don't spend too much time explaining the Tapes; instead they get the people to listen to them. That's the key!--The music speaks for itself to their hearts. Remember, while the music is talking, don't you talk, it's pretty difficult to listen to two things at once.

         11. THERE'S SUCH A DEARTH OF GOOD MUSIC IN THE WORLD, THAT PEOPLE ARE REALLY HUNGRY FOR OUR MUSIC. If they just knew what they didn't have, what they were missing, they'd be knocking on our doors to get it! And they do, once they find out, they come back for more and more Tapes for themselves and to give to others as gifts. That's what we need to tell people, too, "If you've already got these Tapes, then get more for your FRIENDS! If you want to help them, this is one way you can really do it!" Once people have our music, they're sold on it, they love it! But it's YOUR job to get them to listen to it, to buy the Tapes, and to do that you have to SELL them on it. You need to be EXCITED about the music! Your enthusiasm will be contagious. The World needs our songs, they need our message and we need to do the best we can to GET it to them!
