For 14 years and up. Can be read with JETTs, but they shouldn't read it on their own. Selected prayer requests, answers to prayer and testimonies of answered prayer may be read to younger age groups as well, at parents' and teachers' discretion.
Asia:
1. Marie (of Michael) (PL 51:4): "Thank you so much for praying for me. I'm half-way through my chemotherapy. Many miracles have happened during my sickness. I had a good surgeon perform my mastectomy, I've had minimal side effects, no sores in my mouth, and no diarrhea. My hair did fall out, but it is now growing back very rapidly. I'm so glad to be in the Family at this time, and for the background of faith and all of the support of the brethren and shepherds. I love you all lots."

Water was drained from around his heart and he then suffered heart failure and was put on life-support, at which point the doctors considered giving him a heart transplant. On May 8th, following more complications with secondary infections, Cathy and Meekness (who came to help) were praying and talking with Jesse, telling him that if Jesus was calling him to go Home, that was okay. They put him in Jesus' hands, praying for him, kissing and encouraging him. He had a good, peaceful night and the following morning he had many visitors--doctors and nurses, some who were not even on duty that day. Later that day, Jesse peacefully went Home to be with Jesus.
Johnny (10, of Robin and Vicky), North America: Johnny passed away early in the morning, May 9th, at home with his family. Johnny was born with a defective small intestine and was only given a few weeks to live. Despite the doctor's prognosis, he lived over ten years and was a very special child.
Gabe (19, of Peter [Angelo] and Lily [Sara]), Europe (PL 52:9): Gabe suffered multiple injuries to his skull and brain after a 30-meter fall while climbing a mountain in Switzerland. After a miraculously successful operation, Gabe was slowly getting better until he suffered a brain hemorrhage and went into a coma. Dear Gabe passed on peacefully and without suffering on May 14th, 1998. Peter and Lily said that Gabe has already communicated with them from the spirit world.
To Peter and Lily, Jason and Cathy, Robin and Vicky, and Dan, on behalf of all of your brothers and sisters worldwide, we'd like to express our love and prayers for you. We support you in the spirit during this very difficult time of saying goodbye to your dear one. But we also rejoice with you in the knowledge that your loved one is now free from sorrow or care, enjoying the delights of Heaven and the company of our precious Savior and Husband! May God continue to give you all the strength, grace and faith that you need in the weeks, months and years to come. We love you very much and will uphold you in our prayers at this time!
Maria Clara: Through the years
From Mateo and Brunhilda, South America:
Prayer requests for many aspects of our daughter's sickness (she is handicapped) have been in the international Prayer List for about six years. The Lord has done many miracles for Maria Clara through the years, which we would like to share with you. In spite of the danger of catching meningitis as a result of her first operation (when only three days old), the Lord delivered her and she recovered rapidly. In her second month, she had to have a valve placed in her head, which her body adapted to perfectly. Another miracle is that three years ago we were able to stop giving her antibiotics, because the strong infections she had been suffering since birth began to go away. They have now almost entirely disappeared. The Lord has answered specific prayers for her kidneys to maintain their normal size and to function properly. Since we've been on our new mission field, Maria Clara has been making remarkable progress with her legs. She can stand up (something she had never been able to do), and is learning to move around slowly. Thank you for your prayers!
Miracle after miracle
From Gabriel and Ana, South America:
On March 9th, our son David's appendix exploded, infecting his body and bloodstream. He had emergency surgery at 11P.M. Though he did survive the operation, David was in a coma for three days and the doctors were not sure how well he would recover. After spending ten days in the hospital (six in the intensive care unit) he was allowed to go home.
The Lord supplied all of our medical needs. Although the entire operation was covered under the national healthcare plan, we still needed the medicine for six injections, which together cost $300. That night we explained to one of the doctors that the medicine David needed was very expensive, and that we did not have that kind of money. To our surprise he said, "Oh, someone just gave me a free sample of that. I have it out in my car!" What a miracle! The following day, to our surprise, a box containing vials of the very same medicine appeared in the refrigerator of the nurses' station. No one knew who had put it there!
We know it is a miracle that David is alive and that he continues to progress every day. Jesus has answered every one of our prayers. Words fail us to express our thankfulness to you, our dear Family, for all your prayers for David. We want to thank all the brethren who sent us prophecies, and those who called us on the phone. We don't even want to imagine what it would have been like to go through this situation without the Lord and you, our dear brethren.
The only explanation: "It's a miracle!"
From Andrew Greeneye, North America:
A large hernia I had for the past five years has miraculously gone back in and is staying in! The only explanation is that it's a miracle and an answer to prayer. We had recently come before the Lord, again asking Him in prophecy whether or not I should have an operation. The Lord seemed to indicate that He would heal me! This got us back to active and desperate prayer, including strong weeping and tongues. Now for the first time in five years, my hernia has stayed in and looks totally normal!
"Before they call..."
From Mary (of Cephas), North America:
I had asked for prayer against my acid reflux (a condition in which stomach acids were constantly coming back up into my throat), and for my back problems, which had also become very severe. Though I was taking a very strong, prescription antacid around the clock, I was still in constant pain. I am very thankful for the Lord's promise that "Before they call, I will answer" (Isaiah 14:13b), because within weeks of my request coming out in the international Prayer List, I began feeling better. Now I am almost completely healed, and my back is also greatly improved. Since sending in the prayer request, I haven't had to take any antacid at all!
"The same yesterday, today and forever!"
From Faith PI (of Paul), Asia (PL 48:31):
In September 1997, I testified that the cancerous cells in my cervix had abated (PL 49:1). However, in November 1997, I was diagnosed as being in the first stage of cancer (stage four being terminal). When my biopsy showed that the cancerous cells had already spread internally, an immediate hysterectomy was required. When we got together as a Home to hear from the Lord about having this operation, the Lord said that He would heal me without surgery if I would give Him a chance. My husband Paul and I felt led to put my life and healing into the Lord's hands. Six months later, I went for another check-up and was diagnosed as being in the pre-cancerous stage, a two-stage improvement from when I was last diagnosed. Thank You Jesus! This was a miracle to all the doctors, who were certain that these kinds of cancerous cells always get worse. Once again, Jesus has proven His miraculous power, and that He is the same yesterday, today and forever! I am very thankful for His love and mercy.
"Worth it all!"
From Jeanni (PL 51:61), Pacific:
I want to send a very special thank you to each of you who have been praying for me. The Lord has done a wonderful miracle. Not only did He heal my kidney problems, but He has also healed my digestion and appendix. Now for the first time in years I'm able to eat solid foods again. These long-term afflictions have taught me precious lessons of desperate prayer for others, fighting in the spirit, holding on to the Word and the importance of frequent praise and loving Jesus time. I'm thankful for the closer relationship with the Lord that has resulted from my afflictions, which makes it worth it all. Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for me. I love and appreciate you very much!
