PRAYER LIST 32
DO May 1996
Copyright June 1996, The Family, Zurich, Switzerland
"In Thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed; deliver me in Thy righteousness. Bow down Thine ear to me; deliver me speedily; be Thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me" (Psalm 31:1,2).
Please use this list along with PL 25, the latest long-term list. Thank you!
For 14 years and up. (Can be read with JETTs, but not on their own. Selected prayer requests, answers to prayer and testimonies of answered prayer may be read to younger age groups at parents and teachers' discretion.)
Dear Family,
God bless you for your faithfulness in upholding one another in prayer! It's wonderful to see the results of laboring in prayer for others, not only in the lives of the recipients of our prayers, but in our own lives as well, as we spend time with the Lord in His temple. PTL!
We pray these Prayer Lists have been a blessing and help to you in knowing what you should pray for, as well as providing an avenue for you to request prayer from your brothers and sisters and children worldwide.
We have been concerned that the many requests in these lists could be making it difficult for you to find enough time to earnestly pray for each one and give each request the attention it deserves. We've also been looking for ways to get your prayer requests out to the Family more quickly, so that you can avail yourselves of their prayers as soon as possible.
In order to do this we have decided to publish a Prayer List every month instead of every two months, as we have tried to do so far. This would have two main advantages: First, each Prayer List would contain the prayer requests we receive during a single month, rather than over a two-month period, which means that there will be roughly half as many requests per issue. Second, and most importantly, we would be able to publish many of the requests we receive a month earlier than we have been. So far, because the Prayer List is published every two months, we have to hold the prayer requests received during one month in order to combine them with the prayer requests received the next month. Getting out the Prayer List every month means that as soon as we receive your prayer requests sent in via your TRFs, we'll start putting together a new Prayer List.
In order to save time in preparing these Prayer Lists, we'll only be including the section of "Testimonies of Answered Prayer" every other issue, or once every two months. We'll also only include the more general recent worldwide prayer requests every other issue, except for timely requests. In other words, every other issue will be a lengthier Prayer List with more general requests, testimonies, etc., while the remaining Prayer List issues will be shorter and contain only the prayer requests for that month. This issue will be a shorter one.
We can't guarantee that from now on we will always be able to put out the Prayer List every month, but we'd like to try it and see how it works, and we pray that it will be a blessing to you. In addition to praying for the requests on the list, please also pray for those who process and compile the requests, and put together the Prayer Lists, so that we can continue to get them out to you as quickly as possible. We love you!
Much love,
Your WS Family
P.S.: When a prayer request you've sent in to the Prayer List is answered, please be sure to testify of it on your TRF. That way we can include it in the "Answered Prayer" or "Testimonies of Answered Prayer" sections of the Prayer Lists as an encouragement to all! Thank you!

3. Jonny A. (PL 29:243): No problems with asthma or allergies since his prayer request was sent in to the Prayer List.

5. Sarah Shine (Vietnam) (PL 30:78): The Lord provided a good hospital and Sarah gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

8. Marie (5, of James and Sarah) (PL 31:98): Miraculously healed of serious ear infection.
9. Jonathan (of Lily): Has been off strong medication for his kidneys for five full months, and the Lord has kept him healthy! He tried many times in the past ten years to come off medication, but each time his kidneys would malfunction. As a result of being off medication, his whole body is now slowing down to normal, as the medication caused his body to speed up as if he were constantly drinking coffee. It's a real blessing as, among other things, he is now sleeping better.
South America:
10. Michael, Praise W. (PL 30:190): Hernias less painful.
11. Birgitta (of Isaac) (PL 29:173): Had a successful operation to remove cataracts in her eyes, and a quick recovery.
12. Gideon (of Ester) (PL 29:155): No more back pain.
13. Angelito (of Bernardo and Clara) (PL 30:166): Since Angelito (now 3 months old, with Down's syndrome) was put on the Prayer List, he has not had any more colds or breathing problems.
Europe and Africa:
14. French court case: The minor's judge presiding over one of the court cases in France that resulted from the raids on the Homes there nearly three years ago, has completely closed the case, TTL! This puts added pressure on the judge responsible for the criminal case, which has not yet been officially closed (although all the members involved were allowed to leave the country).
15. Nina (of Martin): Since her prayer request for weight loss was published, she has lost 14 kilos.
North America:
16. Sara (of Nehemiah) (PL 31:45): Delicate laser surgery done on one eye to stop leaking capillaries which threatened loss of vision was successful! Her eye seems to be doing better and some of her central vision is returning. Her Home writes, "Before the laser was done, Sara and Nehemiah got a chance to witness to the doctor and her assistant, and they agreed to having a word of prayer before touching her eyes. The doctor said she was thankful for the prayer as she could not guarantee the results and knew she needed the Lord's help to guide her." Sara still has a primary infection in her eye which affects her capillaries--please keep this in your prayers.
17. Clay (of Victory) (PL 31:114): Back has been doing much better!
18. Sheri (PL 31:131): Since sending in her prayer request, she has been almost completely healed from frequent headaches.

CRITICAL OR LIFE-AND-DEATH SITUATIONS:
19. Nathan Cummings (TSer), North America: Battling a life-threatening disease that affects his ability to breathe. (Editor's note: No other details received.)
20. Faith (of Philip), Asia: Breast cancer, which has now spread to her bones and back. Against pain in her bones, joints, back and legs, which makes it difficult for her to walk and sit down. Continued faith and grace for her, Philip and the children, as the Lord has indicated that He may soon take her to be with Him.
21. Joy (of Mark), North America: Cancer of the cervix, which has also spread outside of the uterus. For miraculous healing, and protection from side effects of long-term radiation treatment, especially on her bowels and urinary tract. Deliverance from pain.

24. Joy (TS), North America: On dialysis due to kidney failure. For healing from eye trouble in her only operational eye (she is blind in the other).
MAMA AND PETER
25. That Mama's eye condition will improve, so that she can at least continue to open them for brief moments, which is essential for her work. That the eye strain, which comes as a result of her opening them, will not cause her headaches or further weaken her eyes, which has been the case lately.
26. Peter: Recurring neck aches and backaches, as well as mild heart pains. For needed physical strength to carry out his important work for the Lord.
(Please also see the prayer requests for Mama and Peter in the last long-term Prayer List, PL 25.)
PACIFIC
27. Mariko (5, of Elijah and Liberty [live-outs]): (Some months ago, Mariko suffered severe burns over 90% of her body, but has miraculously recovered.) That the Lord will work it out for her to receive the special care she needs at home, now that she is finally able to be discharged from the hospital.
28. Taiwan: That government plans to implement a mandatory health insurance scheme will not result in heavy financial burdens on the Homes there.

42. Jonathan (of Lily): Continued healing from kidney malfunctions, without dependence on medication. (See answered prayer #9.)
43. Isaac (teen): Allergies; hay fever.
NORTH AMERICA
44. For the speedy establishment of a new religious information center being set up by objective academics in the US. That this organization will be successful in countering the misinformation spread by the ACM (anti-cult movement), and become a respected and well-known source of factual information on NRMs (new religious movements).
45. That the Lord will bring to naught Margaret Singer's plans to form a new ACM organization that would take the place of CAN (which went bankrupt). That this new organization (called the "Singer Foundation") will not gain credibility with government or academic circles or the public, and that efforts to raise funds for the organization will fail. (Singer is a leading anti-cult "expert" and major proponent of the "brainwashing" theory.)
46. That the Lord will keep our Family in Mexico from continued efforts by the ACM to distribute negative information on the Family to government officials. For the Lord's blessings on our media team's efforts to counter these attacks, and for positive relations with the government.
47. Tim and Maria, Izzy (of Philip Q.), Lily, Marina (2, of Christina YA), David (of Hosy), Paloma (of James, TS): Needed green cards, residency or other U.S. visa-related paperwork.

SOUTH AMERICA
72. Angel and Esperanza: For comfort and encouragement after the graduation of their seven-month-old boy, Andres. Andres was born with heart problems, but did fairly well for several months until taking a turn for the worse and suffering heart failure. Andres was due to undergo major surgery, but the Lord decided instead to take him Home to be with Him. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 11th. Our prayers are with you, dear Angel and Esperanza, and while losing Andres is difficult, we can be reassured that he is happy and free of heart problems in Heaven, TTL!
73. Argentina: That the psychologist who previously testified against us, who has now been accused by both government and independent experts of forging some of the psychological exams taken by the Family children incarcerated after the raids, will be formally charged. This will help both the main case and our different civil lawsuits, as well as open the door to investigate and appeal the false testimony of others in the case. Please pray that this case exposing the false psychological reports will conclude in our favor before final judgment is rendered on the main case (which the Supreme Court is again sending back to a provincial court), so that it can have a strong positive impact on the outcome of the main case.
74. Brazil: That a minor's judge who has been presiding over an investigation of one of our Homes, will be satisfied that the Home has complied with the educational requirements that he set down, as they have now enrolled their children in officially recognized correspondence courses, and that he will close the case entirely. (Home schooling has not yet been legalized in Brazil.) The judge has already dropped all charges on other issues (such as allegations of sexual abuse), but Social Services have continued to pursue this line of questioning in their interviews with the Home's children. Please pray that they will drop the matter altogether and that the Home will be free from further harassment.
75. Brazil: For a second court case involving the right to home school. Some time ago, a lower court ruled that a Home must send their children to public school. The Family appealed, and a higher court reversed the verdict, allowing the Home to educate their children at home. However, in a very unusual move, the lower court judge has rejected the higher court's ruling, and decided to uphold his original verdict forbidding home schooling. The Home is again appealing the lower court's verdict. Please pray that the court of appeals will again overturn the lower court's verdict, allowing the Family to home school their children, and that this case can be closed soon. (Thank the Lord, the children have been able to remain home-schooled while the court case is in progress.)
76. For all those applying for residency or long-term visas in South American countries.
77. Colombia: For political, social and economic stability.
78. Heaven Love: For the Lord to supply her with a new artificial leg (she lost her leg before joining), as the one she now has is old and causes her pain.
79. Teresa (16): Cyst on eyelid.
80. Clara (of Bernardo): Painful swelling in wrist.
81. Sulamita (12, of Maria Clara): Blood infection; recurring headaches; for weight gain.
82. Laura (1, of Mateo and Katrina): Recurring fevers.

EUROPE AND AFRICA
102. Visas, travel and landing funds, and other needed preparations for families leaving Western Europe for the former Soviet Union, India, and other mission fields.
103. Russia: New local laws severely limiting missionary activities have been passed in a number of Russian cities and provinces. These laws are considered unconstitutional by the federal government, but many local areas in Russia openly disregard Moscow's rules. If these laws were fully enforced it would make it nearly impossible for our Family to legally operate in these areas. Please pray that the Family members there will be able to continue their fruitful ministries in these cities or areas without the local governments hindering or prohibiting them, and that they will be able to develop or maintain good relations with local authorities.
104. Russian elections: For the Family's protection during the upcoming presidential elections in Russia, as there are indications the elections could lead to violence and civil strife.
105. A couple who left the Family 15 years ago are being investigated by authorities due to allegations of child abuse leveled at them by their teenage daughter. (She had previously eloped with her boyfriend and bitterly broken off contact with them.) It seems the girl may be unstable as she had previously made similar allegations (not involving her parents) to the police, which the authorities determined were unfounded and suggested psychiatric counseling. Pray that the investigation will be quickly closed without further problems for the couple involved, and that it will not affect the Family in any way or be used by our detractors to try to create a sensational media campaign against us.
106. Belgium: There have been indications that Belgian authorities may be planning an investigation of the local Family (or perhaps taking even more serious measures). Pray that this will not cause any serious problems for the Homes in that country or hinder their outreach and support, and especially against any rash action or raids on the Homes by the government. That the authorities will conclude there is no need for a major investigation, and for the Family to be given a clean bill of health.
107. For the formation of an organization by academics in Poland that disseminates objective information on NRMs, and for the Family's good relations with its founder.
108. Peter and Sela: Open doors and contacts to ship bountiful provisions to the Family in Eastern Europe and elsewhere.
109. Home in Slovenia: That plans for a big company to buy 800 Treasure Attic videos to distribute in local hospitals will come through.
110. David (Polish catacomber): To be released from having to fulfill military service, so that he can instead join full-time.
111. Josh, Katrina and Eve: Full recovery from auto accident, particularly Josh's leg and arm wounds.
112. Elizabeth: Healing of womb after a miscarriage; against any infections.
113. Andre (of Mary): Digestive problems, which he has had for the past few years.
114. Nina (of Martin): Undergoing surgery due to infection and possible tumors in her stomach and intestines.
115. Job (of Ruth): Hemorrhoids.
116. Cathy (16), Matthew (of Marie), Charlene (17, of Matthew and Marie): Frequent headaches.
117. Heidi (of Luke): Speedy recovery from operation to remove fallopian tube and ovary after a fallopian tube pregnancy.
118. Mila (Russian new disciple): Rare dental problem requiring very expensive dental work. For the Lord's healing, and that the work needed can be provisioned.
119. Frank (Russian catacomber): Painful spine condition which makes it very difficult for him to walk.

122. Sunny (of John): Placenta previa; for a safe, natural delivery.
