WS MUSIC MEMO NUMBER 2!
God bless you! We hope that the WS Music Memo in GN 676 was a blessing and a help. Following are a few more music memo items:

1.
"Who Are the Rebels?"
"Who Are the Rebels?" is a song you will be receiving on the new FTT, "In It Together." When Mama and Peter were going over the lyrics of this song prior to its final recording, they were concerned that the strong anti-System lyrics might cause some to feel that this is the way they should talk or witness to outsiders. There may be some situations, when witnessing to radical types, when such language is appropriate, but generally it isn't.
Mama explained that in Dad's Letter "Who Are the Rebels?" (ML E, written 3/70), which inspired the lyrics to this song, he was principally addressing the Family, to show them the truth of where the System was at and to help them break from it. However, Dad himself, except on very rare occasions, did not talk to outsiders in this same way, but instead was sweet, loving and understanding, trying to woo and win them, not offend or insult them.
So even though the Letter "Who Are the Rebels?" was written as if Dad were speaking to the System, his
real audience was the Family, who, at that time, except for a few, were all young dropped-out adults. If he had been personally speaking one-on-one with an outsider, he most likely would have addressed them in a different way.
Mama and Peter asked that this explanation be sent out, so that hopefully no one will take this song the wrong way and think that this is how we should talk to outsiders when we are out and when we are witnessing to others. We hope it's a help. Thank the Lord for radical songs such as this and many others, which inspire us with their message to be His on-fire drop-outs! Praise the Lord!

Credits Correction
It has recently come to our attention that the
lyrics to the song "Fade Away" (on the FTT "Flying High," side 1, song number 5) were written by Joy Farmer. (We will send out to the duplication centers the corrected version of this tape's side 1 label, so when more copies of this tape are duplicated, they will bear the corrected label.)
Please accept our apology, Joy, for this mistake. God bless you for writing such beautiful and heart-touching lyrics.

Request for Full Song Credits
Thanks again for helping make new audio tapes possible via your song contributions. When putting together the tapes' labels and songbooks, we want to make sure that the correct credits are used. So this is just a little reminder, when sending your song in, to please include the following information:
         a.)
Composer of the music.
         b.)
Composer of the lyrics: If the composer(s) of the music and the lyrics is the same, please indicate that this is so, so it's not left up to us to assume that if only one name (or one set of names) is given, then that means that person (or persons) wrote both the music and the lyrics. Thanks!
         c.)
Give Letter or Scripture references if applicable: As you will see in the new "Hearts Aflame" songbook, we have included "Inspired by such-and-such a Letter," or "inspired by such-and-such a verse" underneath those song titles which were inspired by certain MLs, Scriptures, Mop quotes, etc. So if the lyrics to a song you send in were taken directly from, paraphrased from or inspired by the Word, we'd appreciate it if you could please include the reference or references. Not every song that is selected for WS audio use falls into this category, but if the situation warrants, it would be a big help to us if you could please include your reference(s) as part of your song credits. Thanks so much! We love you!
