EDUCATION EXCERPTS!
         We are happy to announce that we will resume sending you magazine excerpts on parenting, childcare and education, now under the new series name of "Education Excerpts" (numbered EDX #__).
         These were first introduced and explained in LNF No.161 (7/92), when this series was originally called "News Reprints." The first article of the series, "Christ-Centered Education" (NR #1) accompanied that LNF. Shortly thereafter, however, a number of timely news articles related to various persecution situations were issued under the same series title "News Reprints."--So, to avoid confusion between the two series, we have changed the educational and childcare material to the series name "Education Excerpts." Because of this name change, NR #1 ("Christ-Centered Education") has been assigned a new number--EDX #1. Please renumber your copies accordingly.
         The Lord has led us to a number of articles which we believe you will find very helpful, and we hope to get these to you soon. In fact, included in this mailing is the next article in this series--"Field Trips" (EDX #2), courtesy of The Teaching Home magazine (an American Christian-based home school magazine).
         To help remind you of the goal of these EDXs (formerly NRs), following are some excerpts of LNF No.161:
         * As you will notice, this article has not been edited, but is simply a copy of the entire article, much as you yourself might do if you were to photocopy a magazine article which you would like to keep.
         * The main advantage of sending these articles out in the same format as we receive them (that is, simply photocopied from the original) is that it is an easy way [of supplying you with pertinent and helpful information].
         * Please keep in mind that these articles are not presenting new policies or standards for our Family, but in them you may find some good and helpful ideas. We are not necessarily endorsing or approving every point which is made within these articles. Books which are recommended within these articles are not necessarily recommended by WS. The standard in the Letters and our established Family policies should continue to be your guides in judging the content of such articles, and in deciding what portions of these articles will apply to your situation and can be useful to you.
         * These articles are not in any particular order, and will be on a variety of subjects. If possible, we suggest you keep these [Education Excerpts] together in a notebook or binder. There is room on the left side to punch holes for this purpose. (End of excerpts from LNF No.161.)
