         There is a way that seems right to a man, but the ends thereof are the ways of destruction. Though you are convinced, though you are sure, though you feel beyond a shadow of a doubt that you know the best thing to do, the best way to do it, the best time to do it in, that doesn't necessarily make it so.
         It is in listening to Me and listening to others that you have the safeguards that you need. But what good does it do to listen if your mind is made up? What good is it to listen if you reject all that you hear because of your own surety of mind, thinking that you know best? Is this not pride? Is this not self-righteousness? Is this not unyieldedness? For he that thinks that he is right when he is wrong, is he not proud? Is he not self-righteous? Is he not unyielded? Is he not shutting himself off to the counsel of others?
         I say to you, seek the humble road. Seek to listen. Do not be so sure of your own mind, your own strength, and your own wisdom. Do not become solidified in your own thoughts, your own desires, and in your own will. (ML #3044)
